22 Weeks and Peanut is a Papaya

Papaya22 weeks!  According to The Bump, Peanut is 10.5 inches long and 12.7 ounces.  And s/he can hear what’s going on out in the big, wide world.  Teddy and I have been playing music: Teddy’s given some Bollywood tunes a try, and I’ve been doing lots of ska and Symphony of Science (because my offspring will be both awesome and a huge nerd).  Apparently, baby also is now on a sleep cycle and sleeps 12-14 hours a day, which is approximately how much I would like to be sleeping.  Instead of waking up in the middle of the night with back pain and then staying up with insomnia.  I’ve heard that sleep disturbances during pregnancy are a woman’s body’s way to prepare her for sleepless nights with a newborn.  I think it’s just a cruel joke.

This whole over-halfway-there thing is kind of crazy.  We really, really, really need to get that spare bedroom cleared out so poor baby isn’t stuck sleeping the the kitchen.
